Five Randoms

Part of why I love my job so much is that I get to meet so many wonderful people. I get to find out who they are, what they’re like and be welcomed into a meaningful moment in their life. It’s a perk I don’t take lightly so I want to make sure I’m open about who I am to make sure they know as much about me and feel comfortable with me around – also so it helps to break the ice since I’ll want to be their BFF ;) So to help you get to know me, here are five random facts:

1. I’m not much of a cook. It’s not that what I cook doesn’t turn out, it’s that I don’t actually cook. Call it laziness but I dislike the prep-work that goes into cooking and the lack of structure (ha!) I’d rather bake since there’s strict instructions to follow and I know I can’t mess it up. Luckily, I’m married to the sweetest guy who cooks all the time and doesn’t mind that I never do.

2. Aside from taking art class in high school I’ve never had any formal training in painting or drawing. Same with photography, I took a film and darkroom class in high school and then taught myself everything with digital. I’ve even taught myself basic HTML and Photoshop. With this approach I always feel like there is probably an easier way to do things but I like to learn at my own pace and my own way and it’s fun to discover something new.

3. I strongly dislike washing my hair. I know this is gross but it’s such a long process with the washing, conditioner, blow drying and then some sort of styling. The process is so unappealing to me that I will go many (many) days without washing it just out of stubbornness. Thank god for dry shampoo and baby powder!

4. I’m very clumsy! I chose to included this because literally hours before writing this I was going to help my husband with something in the back seat of our car and I tripped over my feet and my face went right into the side of the car, cutting my lip open and smashing my teeth! I’m fine, it’s more amusing than anything! I rarely walk through a doorway without hitting my shoulder and I always have bruises on my shins that are coffee table height.

5. If I can wear jeans/yoga pants/shorts I will and I’ll always choose them over dresses. There was a time in my life where I would even wear jeans on the hottest days in summer (I’m talking in the high 30’s). Over the past few years I’ve tried to embrace wearing dresses and skirts but I’ll always wear sports shorts under them. I guess I’m just more comfortable in pants… and there’s the wind factor or sitting and I don’t want to think about a possible wardrobe malfunction. Ha!

Hi there!

I'm a Toronto-based Wedding and Lifestyle photographer. Obsessed with lattes, my dog, and having fun. I believe in silly dance moves, celebrating each moment in life, and that laughter makes everything better - as well as a good glass of wine!
